Iraqi Community

Top: Amna Al Qaisi came to Tucson, Ariz., with her family as refugees, after they left their country of Iraq .

During the Journalism Diversity Workshop for the Arizona High School Students. One is the students worked on a story on the Iraqi community in Tucson.

I took her to Nadya Malillis home, who left Iraq a year and a half ago after her husband was kidnapped in Baghdad. Now she lives with her daughter Tanya Ali,8,  who has adopted the American life quickly.

Currently I've been working with refugee families from Iraq. Since I can't go to Iraq I have decide to discover and learn about their culture here in my home town of Tucson, Ariz.

Both Amna and Nadya live in the same apartment complex and have become very good friends.

Mexico City

Concheros gather in the Zocalo every weekend to dance and perform spiritual rituals among the Aztec ruins and the Metropolitan Cathedral.

HISTORIC CENTER

I haven't been to Paris or any European country yet, but in Mexico City I felt many of the times that I was somewhere in Paris. The architecture, the mimes and the violin players in the Historic Center were an interesting combination with the rest of the indigenous culture.

One of my favorite time of the day to photograph the city was during the golden hour.

A soldier patrols the hallways of the Nacional Palace.

A group of men play football in the afternoon in the Zocalo.
